When I talked to my lady this morning she told me not to turn on my PS3, and explained something was wrong with them due to leap year and sent me to a link explaining the deal.
Apparently for March 1, non-slim PS3(PS3 Fat)s didn't have their clock coded to support the event of Leap Year or something. Due to that shit started screwing up, people couldn't connect to PSN, trophies vanished etc.
People said it'd Auto-Fix March 2nd(whatever the PS3 clock time is, not your local time). Supposedly The official playstation website went down because of this bug as well.
I'm just surprised a clock screw up could bring down so much.

Well I always wanted to know what they where worried about during 99, guess now I know. The funny thing is I was playing MAG during it for awhile. It only effect my PS3 when I switched out to play RE5.
Everything is good again...for another 4 years I guess.

Ya I read about that stuff all day yesterday thru the twitter while I was at work.
Bet it pissed off a lot of people.... I haven't turned my ps3 on in afew days... so I'm safe lol.
It is good to know it only took about 24 hours to resolve.

It was bothersome cause you couldn't play anything that needed net access or with trophies but the issue was resolved in less 24 hours. It started 9 to 10 PM Sunday and was resolved by 3PM the next day.
Certainly scary when I thought I lost my RE5 Trophies but I would have gotten them back anyway. Still four years I wonder will it happen again lol.

I don't know it's not like PS3 stomped out PS2. It's been argued that PS2 was choking life out of PS3 which is why it hasn't sold well until the Slim price drop.
Sony themselves said there isn't really a need for a PS4 because PS3 isn't near being tapped. And only a few games like God of War and Final Fantasy XII where able to use the full power of PS2. Those games can also hold even now.

There will be a need for a PS4, when they can make a leap as big as the one from the PS2 to the PS3. And I don't think that will happen for at least another 6-8 years.
